update

So, I woke up this  morning a was immediately surprised and slightly nervous! My five year old woke up early and was bringing me breakfast in bed. Very sweet! But the mom in me was thinking, what did she make, is she going to hurt herself, how big is the mess....?

Can I tell you, the mess was tiny, the cereal and juice perfectly poured and carried, and snuggling with my sweet girl over Mini Wheats and juice... beyond priceless!

Then we went on a marathon of errands together- with no incidents- and now we are home having some much needed family time. This is the nicest Saturday I have had in a long while!

If you haven't rsvp'd for this week's All About Eyes workshop, message me for details! We have a beautiful location and tons of fun to be had in this 90 minute girl-time "playdate!"

And then some...

Would it be OK if I just used this post to give some long-overdue shout-outs? I mean, how often do we really stop to take stock of our blessings? I am looking at a pile of back-logged files that need to be put in order and put away- not more than an hour's work if I dawdle. But I keep picking up a file and discovering little blessings. Like the time a brand new National Sales Director messaged me back and forth for no other reason than to encourage me to keep pushing forward to my win! (Thanks JM)

Or the time I was super-sick at a big amazing training, and people with better things to do stopped to take notice and pamper me with rest and concern. They could have sent me home and checked me off the list, but nooo- (thanks, Mo, Cindy, and Colleen)!

Or the time when my daughter was in the hospital, there was NO cell reception at all, and a team member worked a party and set me up for great follow-up with FANTASTIC details and coaching! You know who you are...

And then there's my man.... who has believed in me when I didn't believe in me.... THAT is a gift, folks!
You rock, babe! (And two entrepreneurs under the same roof is no small thing!)

And my daughter. Who draws pictures of us riding in my pink cadillac and reminds me weekly of how there is joy in work well done, and joy in snuggling together when the work is over! Such a precious girl!

So, so many more... I'll be back later. :) For now, some filing!

Nominations, please...Global Month of Service, and prizes!

I'm soooo excited to be back online with you! In the past few weeks, I've moved, travelled to get in-depth training on the newest foundations and complexion tools, celebrated my daughter's birthday... and have begun shopping for our new home.

Life has been so busy... and yet it has been so much fun working with soooo many talented people in a field I am absolutely wild about! I have seen timid women transform into knockouts before my eyes. I have seen brides and brides' mommas tear up when they catch that first sensational glimpse of each other on the BIG day... I have seen women light up at a compliment from a passerby... so much beauty in this world and I have the privilege of helping so many women find their own beauty.

So, for my newest challenge I need your help... I am linking arms with my sister beauty consultants and sales directors to help reach 1 MILLION hours of service for our month-long initiative to promote International Women's Day and improving the communities in which we live and work.

I would love YOUR ideas for ways my business team and I can plug in and serve. I am going to give a gorgeous gift basket to the contributor of the idea and to the organization that is selected.
YOUR challenge:  Tell me about your favorite non-profit organization and why they need our help, OR nominate a person who needs service (i.e. a widow, shut-in, single parent) and what we could do to serve them best.  To protect the privacy of those nominated, please post YOUR name and name of the organization, or message me on facebook (privately) if there is an individual you would like considered.
I am so excited to see who you nominate! Winners and selected recipients will be contacted by Feb 9.
THANK YOU, and get those suggestions coming!

Strategic... Strategize... Stratosphere

A great business plan starts with the end in mind.

As of today, I am gearing up to relaunch into leadership after a short hiatus.  Time to go put that plan together and get going.

Winding down for the wind up!

This time of year is a mixed bag for most of us. We are celebrating, pushing our worries to the back of our brains, eating more, sleeping more, and spending more. We are trying to cram every little nook and cranny of our lives with Holiday (holy day!) magic, meanwhile kicking ourselves for not enjoying the social part more. Beautiful guilt! Well, let's push aside out eggnog-haze for a moment here and think forward
As we enter the final two days of this year, let's take a look back for just a second...

  • What was great about this year? (finances, relationships, spiritual growth, professional stretching, etc?)
  • Not so great? (Finances, broken promises, health, battling bitterness, etc?)
  • What would we change if we could... to make 2011 look better than 2010?
  • What actions would be required of us? A new outlook? A new way of doing things we've done? A "tweak" of the good old way? A better support system? A "clean slate"?

Or maybe it would mean letting that "committee" that gets a vote so often in life have LESS of a voice, or no voice at all! If we think about it, we am not beholden to most of the people who "vote" on our life anyway. I look around and see friends, families, and co-workers struggling with the same issues... when we take roll and think through an issue, are we sabotaging the best solutions because of what others might think? Are we so worried about the approval of someone-- maybe even someone we don't even like that much if we tell the truth-- that we submarine the right course of action for a safer one?

This week for me is a week of reflection, celebration new,  mourning losses, and mobilization to get to the next place. God gave each of us a purpose... and if we don't want to spend one moment choosing less than living in that purpose, what does that mean?

For me: growth means I don't just look at the good, bad, and ugly and make a set of resounding "declarations" to change. It means that I write out the details of what steps must happen to get me to my desired end result. (And that includes character and personality traits to evaluate for improvement.) It means I pull out a year+ calendar and write in the things I want to have time for (family, friends, traditions, playtime,  celebrations, vacations and some work time too!). Then I block out time by  day, week, month for the actions I will be implementing. I used this approach last year and saw tremendous results! Despite health issues for my child and myself, the challenge of having two entrepreneurs under the same roof, renovations and lightening-quick sale of our home (21 days from start to finish!), followed by a short-term move into an apartment, followed by house-shopping.... phew! I am tired! But I look back, and while there are improvements to make, I am pretty excited about what I see.

I stuck to my plan. Bounced back and adapted after set-backs... and experienced explosive growth in every part of my life. I am choosing to commit to this plan again this coming new year. I fully expect and embrace the challenges and growth that is coming! TGBG!

So, talk to me about what you want to see in 2011. What do you want to look back on in December next year? What will it take to get there? Let's talk!
